Accommodating up to ten guests in five varying suites, this private villa is flush with earthy tones and natural-material architecture, easing us into the natural surroundings.

The villa’s graceful layout unfolds easily, filled with understated fireplaces, heated outdoor spa pools, a private cinema, and leafy, sun-dappled views through the floor-to-ceiling glass windows. We’ll eagerly gaze out at the expanse beyond to take in the saga of life amidst the natural world: from surreal sunsets to braying zebras and prowling lions, the best of East Africa is here.

Accommodations at Singita Kilima

On the ridgeline of Sasakwa Hill, within ancient trees alight with birdsong, the five lovely suites of Singita Kilima are a study in thoughtful indulgence. They are organized into a main suite and a junior suite—both accentuated with expansive outdoor areas set with daybeds and heated plunge pools—plus three one-bedroom suites. Every stylistic decision in this space celebrates flora and fauna, filled with comfortable, modernistic furnishings.

The roomy communal areas are where families and friends can unwind together however they wish: at the infinity pool, perhaps, where the bar-deli area is always supplied with healthy drinks and snacks, or in one of the sitting areas, reading a book warmed by the crackle of flames in the fireplace. There’s also a kitchen, staffed by a culinary team, a fully equipped on-site fitness centre, a cinema room for cosy evenings, and a dining room that readily caters to formal dinners, casual gatherings, and bespoke wine tastings from Kilima’s excellently stocked private cellar. Restorative wellness sessions can be arranged too, of course, from massages and wraps to meditation and yoga. Full-time dedicated staff—including a chef, butler, housekeeping team, and a guide working in tandem with your Micato Safari Director—ensure that every detail of your stay feels effortless.

Activities and Attractions at Singita Kilima

In this 350,000-acre, unfenced section of the Serengeti Mara ecosystem, guests at Singita Kilima have plenty of room to roam. Here, we have a front-row seat to the comings and goings of the Big Five, and plenty of other wildlife besides: lithe cheetahs and mighty, lumbering elephants, snorting wildebeests and swinging, screeching colobus monkeys. You’ll embark on twice daily game drives led by your expert Micato Safari Director, who will regale you with animal tales, local customs, and fascinating ecological insights. All ages are welcome at Kilima: little travellers can join in the game drives, or take part in the Mini Rangers Course, with customized activities from animal-tracking and bush survival techniques to bird-spotting and cooking classes.

On one day, perhaps we’ll join a meaningful community visit to learn about Tanzanian culture firsthand, followed by an evening of stargazing or cocktails served on the veranda. Walking safaris are another engrossing means of exploring this magnificent landscape—and the perfect way to end such a venture, we find, is arriving at a surprise sundowner spread, or, if you fancy, an en-suite massage amidst the magic backdrop of Serengeti sounds.
