Introducing Rwanda

A lushly beautiful, compact nation (it’s smaller than Vermont) Rwanda was well described by a Micato guest as “a country really getting its act together…and what an act it is!” The headline attractions here are massive, gentle mountain gorillas, healthy family groups of which inhabit Volcanoes National Park (which contains five of the eight Virunga Volcanoes, the very epitome of marvelously misty, mythic-looking, densely jungle-clad volcanoes).

Seeing and spending peaceful yet electric (and well-chaperoned) time with mountain gorillas is a rare, heart-filling experience. Micato’s panjandrums, Dennis and Joy Pinto and their two kids Sasha and Tristan, visited the gorillas in 2014. Joy’s blogs and Tristan’s pictures are eloquent tributes to our precious, sparkly-eyed close relatives. You will be enthralled.
