The Victoria Falls Hotel

The Victoria Falls Hotel

The Victoria Falls Hotel has been the choice of visiting members of royal families, international statesmen and celebrities for over a century. It has been meticulously restored to its original Edwardian grandeur of columns, archways and extensive wood paneling. Set on verdant lawns, the hotel’s entrance overlooks lily ponds, lush flowering scrubs and palm trees. Morning coffee and traditional high tea are served in the garden terrace overlooking the Victoria Falls Bridge and the Gorge,  enveloped in the mist of the Falls.

tongabezi

Tongabezi Lodge

Tongabezi is set in a tranquil grove of ebony trees only twelve miles from the Falls in Zambia. The luxury cottages—which each feature private decks and glorious views of the river—are decorated with African textiles and artefacts and have unique architectural features that blend with the natural surroundings. Guests may choose to take a guided canoe safari, swim in the rock-hewn pool, find a partner for the grass tennis court, or even try whitewater rafting or power boating below the Falls. Overall a great safari lodge!

royal-livingstone

Royal Livingstone Hotel

Stretching luxuriously along the banks of the mighty Zambezi River, the Royal Livingstone consists of a series of colonial-style buildings set amidst a canopy of lush riverine trees. The hotel offers thatch-roofed buildings, a sparkling swimming pool, well-stocked library and a deep, shaded veranda offering an uninterrupted view of the Zambezi. And only footsteps from the river, the sumptuous rooms and suites—with interior furnishings that accentuate the influences of Africa— offer a tranquil retreat from the wild beauty of their surroundings.
