Cape Town Sojourn

A beautiful mix of natural and man-made pleasures, Cape Town is Africa's treasure for good reason. This perfect post-safari sojourn yields a winning blend of top city sights, sophisticated dining, luscious winelands, and more.

Day 1 Cape Town

Fitting for this magnificent city, The Cape Grace is our home; ranked the No. 2 City Hotel inAfrica and the Middle East by Travel+Leisure, its location on the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront puts us in the center of everything. Breakfasts and lunches are included but dinners are on our own to choose from Cape Town's myriad superb restaurants.

Day 2 Cape Town

Cape Peninsula is absolutely stunning, and extensive enough to require a full-day tour. We have an unparalleled view of two oceans from Cape Point . This reserve also has baboons, grysbok, rhebok and eland. We ascend to the topmost viewpoint by funicular to the lighthouse, looking out over the oceans, mountains, and the spectacular city. From Cape Point to Boulders Beach is a short journey but a huge shift, from the hoots of baboons to the trills of the surprising penguins that make this beach their home. We soak up more local legend as we stroll the historic streets of Simon's Town, with its charming Victorian architecture.

Day 3 Cape Town - Winelands

Prepare to be enchanted as we set off on a day of estate touring and tasting in the winelands, sunny and verdant valleys tucked between towering mountains shrouded in mist. For lunch we sip prime vintages paired with exquisite cuisine at Delaire Estate, which houses an impressive art collection. We also have an opportunity to meander through the quaint villages, like Franschhoek.

Day 4 Cape Town (Optional)

Another day brings us deep into the culture of Cape Town. We take a ferry from the waterfront to Robben Island, which is steeped in history, and was once used to hold political prisoners, including Nelson Mandela and current South African President Jacob Zuma. We also visit the inspiring Rosie's Kitchen, where destitute children and elderly residents of the diverse Khayelitsha Township receive their meals. Helping out in this life-changing initiative will be a highlight.

Day 5 Depart Cape Town

Today we make the short drive to the airport, cherishing fond memories of our time in South Africa and missing this majestic land already.
