The Livingstone Wing Safari is a delightful journey for travellers who desire an in-depth safari experience but have limited time away from home. Devoted exclusively to Kenya, this deluxe safari touches upon nearly all of the country's highlights, experiencing its exceptional wildlife in less than two weeks. And, with four flights, we are able to expedite travel between locations and maximize time in each Kenya game park-from spectacular Amboseli and regal Mt. Kenya to the legendary Maasai Mara. The breadth and scope of this safari encompasses everything for which Kenya is famous.

12 Days Departs Monday, Returns Friday

Day 1 United States - Europe

The adventure begins today as you enplane for Europe.

Day 2 - Day 3 Europe - Nairobi

Welcome to Nairobi, the City in the Sun. An awaiting guide accompanies you to the Norfolk Hotel, a venerable landmark in this capital city. The next day is full of excitement—a presentation by Maasai Elder Rakita, a tour of the revitalized “New Nairobi,” and lunch hosted by the granddaughter of an original settler. After visiting Karen Estates and the fascinating Giraffe Center, we enjoy dinner and conversation at the Pinto family’s home atop Lavington Hill.

Day 4 - Day 5 Amboseli

This morning we fly into the bush country of Amboseli National Park, a sanctuary of landscape, sky and wildlife with the massive majesty of snow-capped Kilimanjaro as its highlight. The area is home to the legendary Maasai tribesmen and huge herds of elephant. An afternoon game run reveals the region's other denizens—antelope, zebra, buffalo and the rare black rhino among others.

Day 6 - Day 7 Ol Pejeta Conservancy

After a brief flight, we drive to Sweetwaters Tented Camp— the once private domain of
famed multi-millionaire Adnan Kashoggi—which boasts the highest ratio of game to area of any park in Kenya. Ol Pejeta overlooks one of the busiest waterholes in the area…elephant, giraffe, waterbuck, gazelle and the big cats all come here to drink. In this area, we enjoy myriad delights—from the Jane Goodall Institute's Chimpanzee Sanctuary and camel trekking to alfresco dining and relaxing by the pool.

Day 8 Mount Kenya Safari Club

Our destination today is the historic Mount Kenya Safari Club, set on 100 garden acres of the beautiful Kenyan Highlands. Refined elegance abounds here, as well as a range of activities and amenities: horseback riding, golf, croquet, swimming, a beauty salon, tennis, even trout streams. Fine dining, warm hospitality and superb suite or cottage accommodations are hallmarks of our stay.

Day 9 - Day 10 Maasai Mara

We wing west to the unspoiled savannah of the Maasai Mara. Here we may savour a Bush Walk with an expert guide, or try a Hot Air Balloon Safari. On the plains of the Mara, we watch the daily drama unfold—enormous herds of animals graze while cheetahs and leopards hide amidst acacia boughs, waiting. We glimpse an ancient way of life at a Maasai village and savor 'sundowners'—a civilised cocktail party in the untamed wilds. After exhilarating days in the Mara, we recall the golden age of safaris with two nights in a luxury tent camp.

Day 11 Nairobi - Europe

A short flight to Nairobi this morning and our adventure draws to a close. We highly suggest a visit to an AmericaShare project to bring your African journey full circle. A dayroom is available until departure for international flights this evening.

Day 12 Europe – United States

We arrive home today, already nostalgic for those serene days on safari.
