There is much to love here, but our favourite thing to do at The Residence is a simple stroll to the end of the 150-metre jetty. We can look down into the clear waters, watching the brightly-coloured fish dart by, or look bath and marvel at the white beach and green palms of the tranquil shore. By day, the end of the jetty is a nautical club, where one can sip fresh coconut or fruit juice and chat with people about your fishing, snorkeling or sailing adventures. At night time, once a week, the jetty turns into an incredible lounge bar where cocktails and canapés are served. Watch the sunset from here, in the middle of the Indian Ocean, and feel true bliss.
Bathe in the Indian Ocean, gazing up at the indigo sky dotted with perfect white clouds. Watch the sunset behind the coral cliffs that line the pristine beach, enjoying the salty breeze on your face. Lounge on your private deck by the water, or explore the winding streets of Stone Town and its bustling spice markets—cinnamon, turmeric, cardamom and vanilla. All this and more is yours in Zanzibar…
Your private villa is luxurious, kitted out with stylish, contemporary furniture and eclectic décor that harks back to the island’s African and Arabic heritage. Your secluded deck boasts a private plunge pool and day beds inviting an afternoon nap. Sip a drink from your mini-bar in the comfort of a wicker lounger on the deck. Curl up with a book on the cozy couch in your own living room. Ride your own bicycle along the water. Every amenity one could desire is here, yet they all pale in comparison to your view…

A note for families & children
The Residence is happy to host children of all ages. In fact, children under six stay free.
We can do as much or as little as you desire. You can spend the whole day lounging on the sugar-white beach and bathing in the sparkling seas. Or rejuvenate at the hotel spa, a six-pavilion temple to relaxation, with five acres of surrounding tropical gardens to stroll in after a massage, facial, steam, mud bath, or any other treatment you desire.
More activity, you say? Perhaps you’d like to swim in the glass-walled pool overlooking the ocean, or play a round of tennis on the courts. Cycle all around the property on your very own bicycle. Kayak along the coast, watching for whales in the distance and sea turtles gently swimming below. A guided snorkeling trip takes you deeper into your exploration of the magical Indian Ocean.
Experience the fascinating history of Zanzibar by walking the winding streets of Stone Town—with its ornately carved doors and bustling street markets—or visiting a spice plantation and learning about the trade of cloves, nutmeg, cinnamon and pepper. Trekking in the emerald-green mystery of Jozani Forest is another delight, where we can see duikers, bushbabies, genets, and even the rare Red Colobus monkey.
