One&Only Cape Town

The one and only of Cape Town

Insider’s Review of the One&Only Cape Town

One&Only prides itself on its reputation for urban chic, and it goes a long way toward keeping that reputation fresh: with ever-inventive menus at its signature Nobu and Ochre restaurants, its large, luxurious, view-rich rooms, its fashionable furnishings and contemporary amenities, and—because true chic is timeless—its unstinting dedication to good-natured, hop-to-it service. And, nestled as it is beneath the great escarpment of Table Mountain and its supporting cast of craggy peaks, One&Only offers a wonderful, ongoing experience of timeless natural chic.

Accommodations at One&Only Cape Town

One&Only’s 131 exceptionally spacious rooms and luxury suites — plus the grand One Above penthouse — are individually, imaginatively decorated and come with a full roster of the highest world-standard, linked-in amenities. Almost needless to say, the One&Only features a state-of-the art business centre, a lovely infinity pool, a business centre, spa, and a collection of shops and galleries featuring local arts, crafts, and one-of-a-kind finds. Its two restaurants—one created by the legendary Nobuyuki “Nobu” Matsuhisa and a newcomer, Ochre, which infuses South African recipes with contemporary flair— are part of Cape Town’s exciting culinary scene.

Activities in Cape Town

In many ways Cape Town is Micato’s second African home. Our founding couple, Felix and Jane Pinto, maintain a home here, and while we’re in Cape Town we’ll dine with treasured Micato friends. So, while the One&Only is a destination in itself, much more Capetonian exploration with our Micato Safari Director is in store. Walks on the Waterfront, cable-caring up to the once-glaciated top of Table Mountain, city tours (which, thanks to our deep roots here will take us out of the normal touristic paths), excursions to the beautiful Cape Floristic Region, and jaunts in the wineries and shops and restaurants of the nearby Cape Winelands. As one guest wrote us, “What a lovely thing it is, to spend a busy day and then return to such a restful and beautiful place like the One&Only.”
